SUPERFAST FERRIES GET TOP MARKS FOR NORTH SEA SERVICE

The Superfast ferry from Rosyth to Zeebrugge has been rated one of the best North Sea ferry services by leading consumer magazine, Holiday Which?

In its Winter 2004 edition the magazine inspected 14 new or refurbished ferries that have been introduced to the UK’s ferry fleet since Spring 2000.

Superfast Ferries, Scotland’s only direct service to the European continent, was rated “best” overall and “best” in the categories for cabins, bars and lounges.

The article said:

“Our inspection shows that Superfast has certainly gone in with serious intentions; its two ferries Superfast IX and X are among the best currently operating on routes from the UK.

“The twin Superfast ferries differ only in details of décor. Modern and imaginative interiors make liberal use of wood, marble and funky colours. There is a convivial family ambiance in classy bars and lounges, impressive food whether you chose to eat a la carte or from the buffet, and good standards of service. Cabins are stylish. Lucky Scots!”

The Holiday Which? report focused on continental crossings with a duration of at least four hours, where standards of comfort and service are most important. Superfast Ferries was highlighted in the article as being one of the smartest ships thanks to its additional facilities which include a Jacuzzi and sauna.

The report also stated that the service from Rosyth saves Scottish travellers time and inconvenience as they no longer have to travel to England for a ferry route to continental Europe.

Yannis Criticos, Director, Superfast Ferries said:

“We are delighted by this endorsement of our service by Which? published by the UK’s consumer association, the largest consumer association in Europe with over 700,000 members.
