BACKALEXANDER PANAGOPULOS, PRESIDENT AND MANAGING DIRECTOR OF SUPERFAST FERRIES, ADDRESSES MIT
| In response to an invitation by the MIT-Greece Working Group, Alexander Panagopulos, President and Managing Director of Superfast Ferries, visited the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, USA, on Thursday, 13th November, 2003.
At well-attended presentations at the departments of Ocean Engineering and the Sloan Business School, Mr. Panagopulos outlined the success story of how in less than ten years, Superfast Ferries grew tenfold as a result of a competitive strategy that included innovative ship design and business practices enabling the firm to provide superior service at market prices. During his visit, Mr. Panagopulos met with MIT faculty and students opening the possibility of MIT internships and research collaborations with the fast-growing company he manages.
